Courtney is a spirited, compelling storyteller driven to illustrate Black narratives with tact, accuracy, and artistry. Her God given superpower is her capacity to connect with people and empathize with human stories. Intrigued by our odysseys from underdogs to over-comers, she believes sharing our unique stories and highlighting our differences will spark communal healing and economic restoration.

 

Determined to glorify God, honor our ancestors, and solidify a promising future for our descendants, she is committed to building a community of groundbreakers. To fulfill this purpose, she collaborates with Black businesses and creators to help them discover their own lucid voice. This distinctive personal brand irresistibly captures an audience’s heart and inspires them to act.

 

Born in Tampa, Florida and raised in the Atlanta Metropolitan area, her essence is heavily rooted in Southern culture. Instilled with her paternal grandmother's hospitality and grit and grandfather's sensitive spirit and will to prevail, she was called at a young age to honor the Black experience. Fascinated by the art form, she studied dynamic stories through various mediums.

 

In pursuit of knowledge, relationship, and hands on experience, Courtney began her higher education journey at the Academy of Art University in San Francisco. Studying Communications and Media Technologies, she honed her multi-media skillset through vigorous coursework and active participation in the university's iHeart streamed radio station. When life pointed her back to Atlanta, she transferred to (the illustrious) Clark Atlanta University. Basking in HBCU pride, her eyes are set on obtaining her degree in Mass Media Arts. With experience crafting visual, audio, and print content, she has positioned herself as a creative concept and brand developer.

 

Along with this natural pull, her faith as a Believer of Christ, gift of motherhood, education, victories, and trials have shaped her into the ingenious powerhouse she is today.

 

As a service driven platform, the innovator designed Write To The Root to initiate freedom and celebrate Black creatives and entrepreneurs working to uplift our society. Through it, she also shares profound accounts, poetry, and expositions, encouraging others to tap into the power of writing.
